Headmaster's Corner
As we come to the end of this school year we are grateful to
the Lord for the many blessings that
I am happy to tell you that this has been a very good year
for the school. As I reflect back, these are a few of the blessings that stand out:
We are growing. Our enrollment is up from 232 in 2007 to 248
this year. Our high school grew this year as well. We are projecting more
growth with more than 250 students enrolling next year.
Our seniors have been accepted at some great colleges including
Generous friends have given the school a total of nearly
$700,000 in gifts, $441,000 to support the operational budget of the school,
and nearly $280,000 more enabling us to do "over and above" projects
such as:
· installing a
brand new, state of the art computer lab for next year
· marketing
the school more aggressively
· making
various improvements to the school building including
upgrading the heating system
· providing
scholarships
· hiring
additional staff
We are delighted that we have purchased the property at
We rejoice that SSCA high school students raised $55,000 to
be able to go on a wonderful and for some, a truly life transforming mission
trip to
Our athletic teams did very well with boys' soccer and
girls' soccer, basketball and softball earning berths in the MIAA post season
tournament.
SSCA students won awards at several prestigious art
competitions including the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards.

Summer Reading Club
Improve Your Reading Skills with one of SSCA's Reading
Specialists, Mrs. Ann Cox
Mrs. Cox's Summer Reading Club for 1st through 3rd graders
will meet in Mrs. Cox's classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is just $25 per sessions. Please join us to read together and have fun
doing a craft or activity!
What a great way to keep practicing your reading and
comprehension skills while having fun!
If you are entering 1st to 3rd grade, this is for you.
Some activities include going to the library, playground, doing
a craft or water activity.
Ten sessions will be held throughout the summer from
July 15,17
July 22,24
July 29,31
August 5,7
August 12,14
