Application Procedure
To apply to South Shore Christian Academy, obtain an application packet from the website or the school office. You need to complete all admission/application forms and return them along with a nonrefundable application fee of $50. There is a rolling application process, however to receive first consideration, application materials should be postmarked by March 1, 2008. While we will continue to receive applications after this date, first consideration will be given to applications received by this date.
School Records
In the application packet there is a Release of Records Form. Please fill this out and send to the student's current school. The records must include the following:
- transcripts
- standardized testing
- report cards (current and previous)
- discipline reports
- a teacher recommendation
Admissions Testing
Applicants to Preschool and Kindergarten are required to take a developmental test administered at SSCA. Applicants to grades 1-5 are required to have standardized testing scores from their current school. Students applying for grades 6 - 12 are required to take a Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). Interview/Shadow Day
A personal interview with the applicant and parent(s) is required. In addition, all applicants from 1st grade thru 12th grade are required to attend a Shadow Day, spending a full day visiting classes.
Notification
After the application file is completed and processed, SSCA will notify all prospective students as to their admission status. Applications will continue to be reviewed throughout the year until openings are filled. All subsequent applicants who are offered admission will be placed on a waiting-list. Students will be drawn off the waiting list as openings become available.
Admitted Students
After notification of acceptance, the parent(s) of the student must sign and return the acceptance package within 2 weeks of notification. If the school does not receive this information by the deadline, the student's seat may be given to a student on the waiting list.
